Collecta for Plastics manufacturing

Collecta is an operations platform for plastics manufacturers. Build no-code modules for mold setups, resin batches, injection-molding jobs and quality checks, connect your presses over IoT, and run a Claude-powered AI agent across the whole shop floor. It replaces the spreadsheets and disconnected tools that injection-molding, extrusion and compounding plants juggle today.

The challenge

What slows these plants down

The disconnected tools and paper trails Collecta is built to replace.

Mold-change and setup data lives in binders and spreadsheets, so cycle-time and scrap trends are invisible until the monthly review.

Resin lot traceability is manual, making it slow to contain a defect back to a specific batch or supplier.

Machine OEE and downtime reasons are recorded on paper, so root-cause analysis happens days after the stoppage.

Quality holds and customer complaints are tracked in email, with no link back to the job or material that caused them.

Build it

Modules you'd build

Starting points, not a fixed template — add your own fields, statuses and relations.

Mold & tooling registry
Resin lot & batch tracking
Injection molding job orders
Machine OEE & downtime log
Quality holds & dispositions
Preventive maintenance schedule
Automate it

Automations that earn their keep

Trigger → condition → action, all permission-aware and audited.

When a downtime event exceeds 30 minutes, automatically open a maintenance ticket and notify the shift lead.

When scrap rate on a job crosses the threshold, flag the resin lot and alert quality for a hold decision.

On every completed job, write back actual cycle time and yield, then recalculate OEE for that press.

When a mold reaches its shot-count interval, schedule preventive maintenance and block new jobs on that tool.

FAQ

Plastics manufacturing, answered.

Yes. You build a resin-lot module with the fields you need — supplier, batch number, MFI, moisture, certificate — and relate it to jobs and finished goods. Because relations are bidirectional, you can trace any defect from finished part back to the exact lot and supplier, and forward from a recalled lot to every order it touched.
Stream run state, cycle time and reject counts from your presses via the IoT/integration layer, or log them through a downtime module. Formula fields compute availability, performance and quality into a live OEE figure per machine, and dashboards roll it up by line, shift or plant.
The module system is fully generic — there is no fixed schema. Start from sector-relevant examples like mold registry and job orders, then add your own field types (17 are available, including formula, lookup, status and relation) so the platform matches how your plant actually runs.
